Having successfully gained studio space as a resident artist at HOFS (Hadleigh Old Fire Station) house in Hadleigh I wanted to personalise my working environment so with the assistance of my daughter Kelly we set about the project of creating a mural during a weekend last summer.

After drawing out the initial image we scaled it up and then marked a larger grid on the wall,  each of us began drawing from either side filling in each section until we met in the middle.  I must confess that Kelly drew the majority of the top also due to the fact that she is far taller than me!

Once the drawing had been completed the fun started.  On opening the paint we discovered that I had purchased ‘Midnight Blue’ instead of black, although sorely tempted to go ahead with the blue as we were tired and frustrated I thought better of it and delayed proceedings by returning the paint!
