After spending a leisurely afternoon having lunch in the village of Paglesham, I happened upon this charming cottage.  The challenge of producing the old brickwork excited me so I decided to use watercolour to achieve the soft, worn effect of the bricks.  A violet wash was used to add dappled summer shadows and masking fluid was used to achieve the distressed paintwork around the sash window.
